The Fitbit Community Group

Those of you in the Intervention group have received an invitation to our study’s online Fitbit Community Group. We encourage you to join – it’s a great way to track your activity and interact with others. You can post fitness stats like how many steps you took or how far you walked, communicate through the community discussion section, and see what other study members are doing to stay fit.

The group can have discussions and access fitness leaderboards so that we can help each other get more active and healthy. Anyone in the group can start a discussion topic. If you need advice, or if you want to share something you’ve learned since the beginning of the study, feel free to share it!

Your Fitbit is a great resource for tracking progress toward your exercise goals. It measures steps taken, calories burned, and distance walked or jogged. After syncing your Fitbit with your online profile, you can also log other activities and personal details.

If you’re having trouble using your Fitbit, or if you’re not sure how to sync it with your online profile, check the Prostate 8 website. Our Fitbit Guide offers information about creating an account and connecting your Fitbit. To find the guide, click on “Get Active” on the Prostate 8 homepage. Then click “Fitbit” in the upper right corner, and click “Fitbit Guide and FAQs.”

If you did not receive an invite email from the Prostate 8 team to join the Community Group, please email sarah.joost@ucsf.edu, who will send you another email inviting you to join. We look forward to seeing your exercise accomplishments on the Fitbit Community Group!
